Half a century has passed since then, and while it has not all been smooth sailing, the company’s resurgence after a series of incidents involving problem with Chinese company shipping expired chicken, and contamination by foreign substances since 2014, has drawn significant media attention, often described as a V-shaped recovery. Recently, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, McDonald’s Japan has attracted attention for its mid-sized meals. The company has been evolving with the changing times by implementing new features such as eat-in, drive-through, and online ordering.
