| 内容記述 | This study aimed to investigate the current status of students’ motivations for obtaining a teaching license and pursuing a teaching career; to develop measurement items informed by prior research on motivations for entering the teaching profession and to examine their structure; and to explore the potential variability of these motivations by conducting a cross-sectional comparison between first- and second-year students. A questionnaire survey was administered to art and music majors enrolled in junior college teacher education programs. The results indicated that while nearly all students expressed the intention to obtain a teaching license, their levels of motivation to enter the teaching profession and the types of motivations they held were highly diverse. The findings also suggested that the timing at which teaching career intentions become more clearly defined, as well as their potential variability, may reflect characteristics specific to junior colleges. Furthermore, the analysis identified patterns and categories in students’ stated reasons for aspiring to, or not aspiring to, a teaching career.
