| 内容記述 | This study analyzes how Japanese television news coverage evolved during the 2025 House of Councillors election, with particular attention to the growing structural influence of social networking services. A chronological review of major terrestrial news programs reveals a clear shift: early reporting centered on policy issues, mid-campaign coverage emphasized political responsibility, and late-stage reporting highlighted social-media dynamics, including short-form video circulation, disinformation, and bot-driven amplification. The ruling coalition’s historic defeat and the ensuing political vacuum underscored the limits of traditional media’s predictive capacity. At the same time, the rapid spread of AI-generated content and algorithmic curation on platforms such as X and YouTube further destabilized television’s role as a dominant agenda setter. The analysis suggests that contemporary election coverage increasingly requires television journalism to serve as a public verification mechanism that contextualizes and authenticates political information within a fragmented, SNS-driven media environment. |
